Co-development of workshops to promote psychological well-being after a stroke

Since mental health issues are common following a stroke, ARTÈRE is looking to integrate activities that would support the psychological well-being of its members. This project aims to co-develop workshops to promote psychological well-being that can then be offered in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.

Four specific objectives will be pursued:

  • (1) Identify the main issues and cognitive-behavioral strategies to be prioritized and establish the modalities to be used in the workshops;
  • (2) In collaboration with ARTÈRE members, co-design the workshops, ensuring that the content and format are adaptable for people aging with stroke, younger adults, people living with aphasia, and family caregivers ;
  • (3) Pilot implementation and evaluation of the workshops; and
  • (4) Develop training materials to ensure the sustainability of the workshops and broader access.
Global progress
1. Establishment of a steering committee and ethical request
2. Identification of issues, strategies and modalities to be prioritized - Focus Groups and individual interviews (Objective 1)
3. Adaptation and co-development of existing materials and consultations with the steering committee (Objective 2)
4. Implementation and pilot evaluation of workshops (Objective 3)
5. Development of training materials and dissemination of results (Objective 4)
