Co-development of intergenerational activities to break with ageism and support the social participation of people living with the after-effects of a traumatic brain injury.

This participatory research will bring together young people and seniors living with traumatic brain injury, a manager and stakeholders from a community organization serving people living with TBI (Servio), a representative from Intergénération Québec, as well as researchers in the health sciences, the humanities and social sciences, and the arts. These partners will use a human-centered design approach to co-develop an intergenerational initiative focused on the creation of life stories for the older generation living with CBT. These life stories will take the form of photo essays.

The project’s objectives are as follows:
1.co-develop and implement a series of intergenerational sessions aimed at creating life stories of TCC seniors in the form of photo essays;
2. Reduce the stigma attached to people aging with disabilities through a public exhibition showcasing these stories;
3. To explore the effects of this initiative and its feasibility.
This project will contribute to filling gaps in knowledge regarding interventions supporting social participation for individuals aging with CBD; while exploring the potential of intergenerational activities with this population.
